Side Effect: Inability to do crossword puzzles

Tuesday, April 14:  Just a quick note to let people know I am generally feeling better.   Nausea has worn down mostly, still eating fairly plainly (well, except for that cake--it knows who it is...).  Still taking lots of those miracle anti-nausea drugs, although tapering off.   Also found "that which is legal in California" to be extremely helpful.   However, I would like to complain that my ability to do the crossword puzzle has been tragically reduced, as I discovered last night on Monday's (!!!!) puzzle, which somehow I couldn't get through... Sigh.   And this morning I gave up on the Chronicle.   very sad situation....So on to a  bit of a walk and perhaps a little work in the garden--pulling a few weeds shouldn't require any overly great concentration.   I am still pretty groggy and have not yet trusted myself to drive, so thanks to the people who have been taking me to my daily appointments.

  1. Hello followers...Is there someone who is coordinating food prep/delivery? I've had some folks here at the city inquiring about participating in that, and don't want to drop off unexpected/unwanted meals or bother Judy. Your advice? Thanks. - Beth

  2. Hi, Beth. I am Judy's sister-in-law, and I am trying to get contact information for Judy's food support group to you. The first two messages didn't go through, so I'll try again. You need to contact Organizational Wizard Leslie Cray. She has this down pat. Marlene Lieberman

Hello Friends and Family of Judy:

The schedule is now almost full and we've had a few additional people join in, which is great. One question that came up is what to do about containers used to deliver the food. I just spoke to Judy and she asked that we label containers we want returned and they will place them back on their porch for retrieval. She also asked that I remind everyone that the food is really for Alan and Leah - but she enjoys soup, and soft foods like mashed potatoes, etc. Maybe we can get creative with purees or something.

By the way, Judy sounded pretty good, but she is very fatigued and is still battling naseau. She very much enjoyed her acupunture yesterday and seems to like her "special" tea as well.

If you don't find an open slot on the schedule that works for you, you could make a note that you might be able to sub for someone if the need were to arise. If your schedule changes and you can't make a date you've signed up for, I think we should feel free to call or email each other individually to try to work out a swap -- or, if you know you need to make a switch pretty far in advance, just send a "reply all" to this email.

Finally, Judy expressed her deep gratitude. She really feels cared for. Plus, she is grateful not to have to smell intense cooking odors in her house!

The link, if you need it again, is below. Remember, you may need to click on the "edit this page" tab to see and change the completed spreadsheet.
